(SOLD OUT) 2009 Riesling Reserve
Our first reserve Riesling, from the 2009 vintage is a small lot produced from our young Riesling block in the middle of our Estate Vineyards.
The fruit was handpicked in mid October, and gently whole bunch pressed. From the pressed and settled juice, four stainless steel barrels were kept separate. Two of these were fermented with selected yeasts, and two were fermented with Natural yeasts. During and after fermentation the four barrels were stirred frequently to impart a creamy mouth feel and textural richness to the wine. The wine was left un-sulphured until June of 2010, and underwent partial Malolactic fermentation.
In June of 2010, the wine was racked off its lees and gently filtered before being bottle. No fining agents or additives were used to help maintain the phenolic characters of the wine. Bottling date: June 23rd 2010.
