2008 Gewurztraminer (08005)
This is our second ever Flat Rock Cellars Gewurztraminer from the little block next to the entrance road. It was picked on the 23rd of October at 21.3 Brix, hand sorted and crushed. The crushed grapes were left on the skins for 24 hours at 20˚C after which it was gravity fed into the press. The juice was cold settled, then racked, warmed up and inoculated with the yeast strain VL1. Cool fermentation lasted six weeks.
It was racked, stabilized and filtered before bottling in April 2009.
