Harvest Time at Flat Rock CellarsBack to Archive
A Word from Ed
Another harvest is upon us. For most of 2009 it looked like Mother Nature did not want to cooperate with our wishes for a brilliant crop. However, fabulous late summer and early fall weather has us giddy with excitement that this year will be the best vintage ever. All of our hard work in the vineyard this summer has paid off and a healthy crop is awaiting its destiny to become great wine.
As with every fall there are always many things to experience at Flat Rock Cellars. Please take the time to truly immerse yourself in the joys of harvest. It's what truly motivates all of us at Flat Rock Cellars.
The New Faces at Flat Rock
We are pleased to announce the Flat Rock family is temporarily growing. Our globe trotting harvest staff are quickly getting comfortable in their new home. If you happen to be at the winery, feel free to poke your head in the winemaking facility to give them a warm Canadian welcome.
We are happy Laurie, Anthony and Estelle from France, Christian from Chile and our homegrown recruits Casey and Kerri are here as part of our team. The 2009 will be one rockin' harvest.

New Releases & Merchandise:
Our Cellar Door has been busy with the bustle of the impending 2009 harvest as well as the Niagara Wine Festival.
To celebrate this rich time of year we have released a couple of fall friendly wines for you to enjoy. Our 2008 Pinot Noir ($19.95) and 2007 Gravity Pinot Noir ($29.95) are now available at the winery as well as on-line at www.flatrockcellars.com.
Also to keep things fresh we've designed some new, funky tees that are available at the winery only. Swing by the winery and get yours before they're gone.
Doing our Part
At Flat Rock Cellars we are aware of our social responsibility to give back to the community and have initiated a campaign that involves donating a portion of our retail wine tasting fees to a charity chosen every two months by a staff member at Flat Rock Cellars.
September and October's charity of choice is Family and Children's Services Niagara. A portion of our proceeds will go to support programs including summer camps, post secondary education opportunities and capital enhancements among others. FACS assists children who are among the most disadvantaged in the community facing hardships such as abuse, neglect, family violence and poverty.
